Benpres is a dominant provider of public services in the Philippines. It was incorporated in 1993 by the Lopez family to serve as the holding company for investments in four major sectors: broadcasting and cable; telecomunications; power generation and distribution; and banking. It has since sold its interest in banking and added to its portfolio investments in other basic service sectors such as infrastructure, and property development.
